Based on the patented offset ridge line StratoSpire geometry, the MesoSpire 2+ is a single-wall two-person tent with un-rivaled interior space, venting, and stability. The MesoSpire 2+ has more interior volume than any comparable tent, with a 52in / 1.32m wide floor and lifted corners; this tent redefines what an ultralight tent can feel like. Using the same principles of small faceted panels, balanced tension lines, and a hexagonal footprint from the StratoSpire, the MesoSpire offers excellent storm worthiness. It is also one of the few tents in existence -along with our Dipole series- that can fully utilize two sets of trekking poles. The tent body is fully stuffable, and the optional struts fold to only 11in / 28cm, making the MesoSpire extremely packable.

The fly is made with 20D 100% silicone-coated ripstop high tenacity polyester (5000mm+) for strong, durable, and sag-free performance.
The floor is made with 30D 100% silicone-coated ripstop nylon 6,6 (5000mm+) for enhanced durability, so that you do not need a groundsheet in most conditions.

Does this tent require seam sealing?

Yes, this tent utilizes 100% silicone-coated fabrics, which require seam-sealing with the included kit. Please read our buyer’s guide section on seam-sealing for more information and guides.

Do I need trekking poles?

Yes, or we have substitute poles that are available for purchase separately. The included folding corner strut can also be replace by a second set of trekking poles.

Can this tent be freestanding?

No, this tent is a non-freestanding trekking pole tent.

Does this tent accommodate tall people?

We recommend this tent for people up to 6 ft 8 / 2.03m.

Are there additional tie out points for extra staking?

Yes, this tent comes with apex lines pre-attached.

Is this tent stuffable?

Yes, the struts are easily packed separately, and the tent body is fully stuffable.

Do I need a groundsheet?

Probably not. 30D sil-nylon is very durable compared to most ultralight floor materials, and in most conditions, a groundsheet is just additional weight. A groundsheet is recommended for use on highly abrasive and/or sharp ground, such as on sandstone or when pitching on sharp rocks/sticks.

How do I avoid condensation?

ALL tents suffer from condensation in the right/wrong conditions but there are steps you can take to limit it. Try to avoid camping overnight in cool, damp environments such as river valleys, meadows, marshes and next to water. If possible, choose an elevated campsite with a bit of a breeze and preferably under a tree canopy. Please refer to the Choosing a Better Campsite video to better understand how to avoid condensation.

This tent checks all the boxes for me. I’ve used the Stratospire Li for the last 2 years. I chose to switch to the Mesospire for the interior real estate. I use a very wide pad and I have plenty of room to spread out, pack up and cook without ever brushing up against a tent wall. I’m 6’1 and really appreciate the room. It’s a little heavier than the SS Li but it packs down smaller. It takes wind and rain like a champ. The construction is top notch. Also, Tarptent customer service is top notch. I definitely recommended.
