Trekking poles are only required for free-standing mode.

FAQs

Can I use this for winter?

The structure will withstand moderate to heavy snow loading. The aluminum pole and extra lines are recommended for snow and/or high wind.

Are there any additional pullout points for extra staking?

Yes, there are additional pullouts on the arch and perimeter hem.

How does the Double Rainbow DW compare to the Double Rainbow?

Both models are arch pole supported. The Double Rainbow DW is full double wall, double side entry. On the Double Rainbow the arch sleeve runs on the outside of the fly/canopy whereas it runs across the outside of the interior on the Double Rainbow DW. The Double Rainbow DW offers interior first setup.

Will this shelter fit long/wide pads?

Yes, it fits two long and wide (76 in x 25 in / 193 cm x 64 cm) pads.

Is the Double Rainbow DW suitable for tall folks?

Yes, it fits people up to 6 ft 7 in / 200 cm.

Is the Double Rainbow DW freestanding?

Yes, but the Double Rainbow DW requires at least 58 in / 147 cm trekking poles to become free-standing. Poles that do not get this long can be extended with our Trekking pole tip extenders.
