To start off, I haven’t yet used the tent in a camping situation but can speak to the pitch and function of the tent.
This tent has several major benefits that helped me choose it over an X-Mid 2p.
1) more comfortable height for head and feet when laying down, or leaning on a pack at a 45° angle.
2) I’m 5’8″ and occasionally camp with my gf who is 5’2″. We both would have so much room in this tent using our 25″*72″ sleeping pads.
3) great ventilation with head and foot vents.
4) Really strong when guyed out on the apex and on the carbon struts.
5) symmetrical design is really cool
6) I prefer the space allocation of the peak height in the center rather than offset. This is personal preference, so it’s hard to say what you prefer.
7) useful pockets.
Overall, I’m eager to take it on a trip this fall!
The pitch is a bit tricky, and you might prefer keeping the poles perpendicular to the ground instead of angled. This helped me achieve better tension. I’ll have to keep trying more in the yard.
