Note: Interiors (mesh or solid) are interchangeable and clip in and out from underneath the fly. You may order either interior at a later date, or the “Both” option means that you are ordering the fly and two interiors. The solid interior (which has two thirds solid, one third mesh walls and solid roof panels) blocks horizontally blowing wind, sand, snow, and rain. It makes the tent up to 8 degrees F warmer in calm winds.

DIPOLE 1 DW FAQs

Do I need trekking poles for general use?
This shelter is designed to be used with trekking poles, but an 8 oz / 227 g alternate pole set is also available for non-trekking pole users. It is also possible to suspend the structure from trees or other overhead supports.

Does this Tarptent accommodate tall people (over 6 ft 3 in / 190.5 cm)?
Yes, we recommend the Dipole 1 DW for taller people up to about 6 ft 8 in / 203 cm. The design of the shelter makes it impossible to run into end walls and there is ample sit-up room.

Can I stuff the Dipole 1 DW to make it smaller?
Yes, the 2 carbon fiber struts are easily removed from the fly.

Are there any additional pullout points for extra staking?

The Dipole 1 DW has attachments for (and ships with) apex guylines to strengthen the ridgeline and expand the vestibules. It also has end strut attachments and up to 8 stakes can be used for handling any weather.

Will the Dipole 1 DW fit a long/wide sleeping pad?

Yes, the Dipole 1 DW will easily fit a 78 in x 25 in / 198 cm x 64 cm sleeping pad.

Can I use this for winter?

The structure will withstand light to moderate snow loading. Opt for the solid interior to increase warmth and deploy the apex guylines to strengthen the ridgeline.
