Can I use this for winter/high winds?
The structure will withstand light to moderate snow loading and high winds with the optional third pole.
What is the difference between the hybrid carbon and aluminum arch pole?
The hybrid carbon poles have some carbon sections and some aluminum sections depending on the stress the section experiences. Our Easton 6.3 series hybrid carbon fiber arch poles are no lighter than the comparable Easton aluminum 7075-T9 poles. The hybrid carbon poles are noticeably stiffer and thus have less flex under wind or snow load. Carbon poles will go from flexed to snapped whereas aluminum will go from flexed to bent. Carbon poles are more susceptible to damage due to abrasion and crushing (via rocks, feet, etc) and therefore require extra care. If you’re reasonably careful with gear, the hybrid carbon will be a stiffer pole overall but otherwise aluminum is less worrisome.
Do I need the optional condensation liner?
The liner is useful for cool, damp conditions or anywhere condensation is unavoidable.
Is this shelter really stuffable?
Yes. There is no hard structure embedded in the fly. The arch poles fold to 16 in / 41 cm.
Are there any additional pullout points for extra staking?
Yes, there are additional pullouts on the arch sleeve and perimeter hem.
