I bought this tent last year and I really love it. Easy to set up and what is nice that it is free standing. It stands up to wind and heavy rain so no leaks or any problems. My only thing I don’t like about it is the weight. Mine weighs at 42 ounces (2.63 lbs) including the ground cloth. I hope it would be made only using dyneema material instead. I would definitely buy it again.

I just returned from a month-long trip through Utah during which I used the tent about two thirds of the nights. The good: seam sealing was perfect, you can put it up in two minutes as advertised, the bathtub floor works as advertised, it sheds snow well, there is a reasonable amount of space beyond what’s taken up by the sleeping pad, it stood up to the wind very well when properly oriented. The not so great: the clips suspending the inner net from the outer fly don’t close, so the inner often detaches from the fly while packing up and you have to fix this every bloody night, the distance separating the inner net from the fly should be greater (they often touch leading to wet out), the pockets are actually dispensers (whatever you put in there you know for sure will end up on the floor), the vents at the top don’t stay open very well (I’ll be modifying those by installing plastic bands that force them open). Lastly, given the size of the package, many users will have to attach the tent to the outside of their packs. Depending on where exactly on their pack that is, the tent bag may not be up to the task. The combination of Utah sandstone and the attachment at the bottom of my pack led to the shredding of the bag within a week. I wrapped the residual with duct tape and that did the job.
For what it weighs and for my height (6’3”) it did an adequate job.

When I first received this tent I laughed at how flimsy it appeared to be, figured I would tear it up in a night or two. Well that didn’t happen, this is a tough tent! I dragged it across Colorado chasing Elk this past October and then once I returned to Florida I was sent to the panhandle for Hurricane Michael response (Wildlife Officer tested) and it excelled in that environment as well. Tough, lightweight, packable, did well in rain, and quick to set up. I did have some issues with condensation on rainy days but if I rolled one of the flaps up I wouldn’t have any issues at all. I think that is to be expected in a one person tent. Great job!

Great tent for bikepacking! Taken this on some simple overnights with friends and it’s a dream. I take it when I go car camping too and it’s a great, spacious tent for one. This is the best tent purchase I’ve ever made.

This is my first TarpTent and I love it! I took it on a 3 day backpacking trip. We had thunderstorms and heavy rain. The design of this tent is ingenious .Because the tent body/liner is clipped in to the fly, I could set up in the rain with minimal water getting into the tent body. At the same time, the double wall helped minimize condensation. Best of both worlds. I also appreciated how quick it was to set up, which also helps when it’s raining. Lots of venting options at the foot, head, and top of the tent. If it’s not raining too hard, you can also keep the fly/vestibule partially unzipped for more airflow.
The tent never leaked, had splashback issues, or felt stuffy to me Being freestanding turned out to be super helpful, i picked the tent up and moved it around to minimize sitting in water runoff. The adjustable-width floor is really cool. The floor is also a little slick (most of them seem to be), and i noticed this when i had to pitch on a slight decline and kept sliding down. I wedged my backpack under the foot of my sleeping pad like a wheelchock and it worked great. Really glad I went ahead and bought this tent, it made a big difference int he quality of my backpacking experience.

I’ve owned this tent since it was first released, and have been nothing but impressed with it. It is the roomiest single person tent I’ve owned by far. The extra interior tub width is perfect because you’ve got tons of extra space to keep your gear in the tent with you, but if you want you can loosen it up and create more vestibule space. Setup is crazy fast and it’s really nice to be able to move the tent around once you get the pole in and the ends up. I’ve owned tents that you have to stake first then raise them, and I’d personally never go back to one for this reason alone. I’ve had absolutely zero condensations issues, and have been very impressed with it’s wind capabilities. The ability to pull the sides down to virtually ground level and seal up the ends really makes a big difference. While maybe not the lightest one out there I do feel it’s worth the extra couple ounces for the conveniences it has.
